Yacht broker Steve Reoch inspected the 170’ Collingwood Indian Ocean Explorer in Jacksonville, Florida on July 19th. She is being converted and outfitted there for service in the Seychelles Islands as a commercial dive charter vessel.
Indian Ocean Explorer Lounge
She was originally a Canadian Coast Guard vessel, and then converted to a passenger vessel carrying 44 passengers. The current configuration has 13 guest cabins. The extensive refit includes bare block engine rebuilds bringing engine hours to zero plus 3 new Caterpillar generators in hush boxes and much more. The steel appears to be good and being refinishedwith a recent audio gauge of the bottom.
Massage Room
Indian Ocean Explorer is a good candidate for conversion to a large, long range dive/expedition yacht. The bulk of a conversion would be on the interior and has the potential for very spacious accommodations carrying lots of toys which already includes a recompression chamber.
Indian Ocean Explorer Galley
Indian Ocean Explorer is scheduled to be leaving Jacksonville within a month, heading for South Africa. The asking price of $3,695,000, which we sense is flexible. If you are looking for a large expedition platform please give Steve a call at 305-216-8682 to discuss Indian Ocean Explorer.
